Brand & press

The ring, the spark, and the night it lives in.

Everything you need to show NOVA properly: files, colours, the rules, and the facts a journalist asks for.

NOVA wordmark
The mark

A ring with an opening, and a star that leaves it.

The ring is the O in her name and the loop of listening; it opens at the upper right, where the four-pointed spark emerges: the answer leaving, the work getting done. In the wordmark the O is that ring.

The name is Latin for “new” and the word for a star that suddenly shines brighter. It is a registered word mark in Saudi Arabia (SAIP, class 9). In Arabic she is «نوفا».

Founder

Faisal M. Wallan

Short

Faisal M. Wallan is the founder of NOVA, the Riyadh start-up building a voice assistant that runs your computer with you in English and Arabic.

Long

Faisal M. Wallan is the founder of NOVA and the face of the company. He leads its business, partnerships and people, and sets its direction: an assistant that does the work on your computer, keeps your secrets on your own machine, and speaks Arabic as a first language rather than a translation. He was the first person outside the product's maker to run Nova every day, and the customer build exists because of what he asked of it. Based in Riyadh, he represents NOVA with partners, press and the Saudi and Gulf market, and steers its path from the Mac to Windows and the phone.

Co-founder

Hatem Abusitta

Short

Hatem Abusitta is the co-founder of NOVA, a filmmaker and entertainment entrepreneur who built the assistant to run his own companies from a keyboard.

Long

Hatem Abusitta is the co-founder of NOVA. A filmmaker and entertainment entrepreneur in Riyadh, he has spent his career in production, marketing and content, running several companies at once from a laptop. Nova began at his desk: a colleague for the computer that could make the deck, keep the files, take the meeting notes, watch the machine's health and, in time, run a company. He leads the product and the technology, and he is the reason Nova hears and speaks Arabic like a person, asks before she spends, and reports in a line instead of a page. He still runs his companies with her every day.

Using the mark

  • Use the wordmark on night or white; use the symbol alone only at small sizes or as an app icon.
  • Keep clear space around it equal to the height of the ring.
  • Don't recolour it, rotate it, add effects to it, or close the ring's opening.
  • Write NOVA in capitals in running text the first time, Nova after that. In Arabic, نوفا.
  • “Pro” and “Business” are plan names, not the brand: Nova Pro, Nova Business.
  • Don't imply endorsement or partnership without asking us.
